My principal areas of work are in monitoring acute respiratory infections and other diseases from routine health data and determining vaccine effectiveness.  I also have a strong interest in cardiometabolic disease.  I am Director of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Research and Surveillance Centre (RSC).  This is one of Europe's oldest sentinel systems.  The RSC has produced a weekly report of influenza。
